Preschool

Focus: Foundation
Teach and talk about big truths that set our foundation according to who God is. God is – God gives. The implications of this reality are vast and simultaneously foundational.

Teach and talk about big truths of the gospel’s redemptive storyline. See Creation, Fall, Redemption, and New Creation through deepening truths and implications over a 6 year cycle.

Focus: Identity
Early adolescence is a time of growing self-sufficiency and increased self-awareness. Jesus changes everything about us. Teach and talk about big truths that point to identity in Jesus.

We were created for something bigger than ourselves. We were created for God’s glory. Teach and talk about big truths that aim our purpose to live for Jesus.

Why Have a Plan?

The discipleship of our children is worthy of intentionality and measures of accountability. The Bible calls parents to diligently teach and purposefully talk to their children about God’s big truths (Deut. 6:4-9) and the church to equip parents for this ministry (Eph. 4:11-15). However, many families struggle to consistently talk about God’s big truths. Without a week over week, year over year plan, discipleship within the family easily becomes inconsistent, random, and reactionary. Simply introducing a discipleship plan can bring strategy and consistency to normalize discipling conversations that deepen and grow with time. If your family doesn’t have a plan, we hope the FDP can help guide you to teach and talk as it has others.
