“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”

This series looks at the Ten Commandments given in Exodus 20. The law was given not to restrict God’s people, but to help them walk in freedom as they were created. Throughout this semester, we will learn how we are to live as those who are no longer slaves to sin, but are set free in Christ.

- God is the One True God, and He has all authority
- The law is given by God to reveal our sin and need for a Savior
- The law is given by God to tell His redeemed people how to live
Every student should strive to:
- Read through the book of Exodus
- Memorize the Bible verse each week
- Be obedient to God’s commands and repent of disobedience
Every student should feel:
- Grateful for God who brings His people out of slavery
- Convicted of the ways that they ignore the law that revives the soul
- Responsible to use their influence to make much of God alone
Every student should desire to:
- Repent of their tendencies to assume their own authority
- Grow as faithful servants of Jesus
- Help others move out of slavery to sin toward freedom in Christ
