God Is Redeemer To Those Who Have No Hope

Big Truth:

God Is Redeemer To Those Who Have No Hope

Psalm 130:7-8; Romans 3:23-26; Ephesians 2:12; Colossians 1:13-14; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Peter 1:18-21; Revelation 5:8-10

Bible Verse:

…Then all flesh shall know that I am the Lord your Savior, and your Redeemer…

Isaiah 49:26

Big Ideas:

  • Sin separates us from God.
  • Separation from God leaves us hopeless.
  • God gives hope to those separated from Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Bible Story:

Ruth 1:1-4:22

We are all in need of a Savior. Our sin is too great and we are unable to pay our sin debt. Because we all are sinful and we all owe a sin debt, we need Jesus as our Redeemer. God gave His Son to be our Redeemer, just as He provided Boaz to be Ruth’s kinsman redeemer.

Foundation:

God Is Redeemer – God Gives The Church

God does not just save us from eternal punishment, but also redeems us. The word redemption means to buy back. This means that God sets us free from the slavery of sin through the death of His Son. God is not just redeeming us as individuals though, but He instead is redeeming a people, His church. The church is the collection of believers both universal (Christians everywhere) and local (Christians who meet together locally). God has set apart His people to declare His praises.
