Big Truth:

God is Spirit

Genesis 1:2; Isaiah 61:1; Ezekiel 26:27; 1 Corinthians 2:11, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14, 2:18; Romans 8:9-11; Galatians 5:17

Bible Verse:

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:24

Big Ideas:

  • The Holy Spirit makes God’s people alive.
  • The Holy Spirit lives within God’s people.
  • The Holy Spirit helps God’s people live faithfully.

Bible Story:

Ezekiel 37:1-14

In the prophet Ezekiel’s vision, he saw a valley of dry bones. He saw God’s Spirit breathe life back into the bones and the bones began to live again. God’s Spirit gives us new life when we have saving faith in Him.

Foundation:

“God is.” God exists. There is only one God, and He is the only one worthy of our worship and praise. And, by His grace and mercy, He has made Himself known to us. We do not worship one who is distant from us or who is uninvolved with His creation. This series walks through nine attributes– nine realities that unpack who God is. These realities are so foundational that preschoolers can learn them, and yet are so deep that they impact and inform every aspect of our lives throughout our entire lives.

During the summer, elementary through high school are aligned under the same Big Truths, Bible passages, and Big Ideas as we invite families to return to the foundational truths of who God is.
