Big Truth:

The Church is a Redeemed People

Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Luke 1:68; Hebrews 9:12; Nehemiah 1:10; Isaiah 43:1

Bible Verse:

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.”

Romans 3:23-25a

Big Ideas:

  • Redemption is God’s action of purchasing a people out of slavery.
  • Jesus was the atoning sacrifice to pay the price for our freedom and redemption.
  • Sin no longer has power over those who have been set free in Christ.

SERIES: God’s People are the Church

This series seeks to help students understand what it means to be God’s people by looking at several characteristics of the people of God. Each one is traced from Israel in the Old Testament, through the church in the New Testament, and to the church today because we are God’s people united through Christ. This series will help remind students of what God has always done for His people and lead them to see realities that are true of them as part of the church.
