Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Big Ideas:
- God made me in His image.
- God made me valuable.
- God made me unique.
- God knows me.
- God makes His children a reflection of Him.
Bible Story:
John 1:43-51God created all of the world. But, when He created man, He made him special and in His image. God also created each person unique and special, including you! The story of Philip and Nathanael reminds us of this because Jesus knows who Nathanael is even when they had never met before. God created us individually, and He knows each one of us.

Creation: Review
God created everything. Everything we see, hear, feel, taste, and that exists was created by Him. Not only did He create everything, but He created everything perfectly, including humanity. He created mankind in His very image and likeness to reflect His worth. All of creation was made just like He wanted and designed it to be. To His delight, God looked at everything He made and declared that it was good. All creation exists for God, is good, and was created to bring Him glory.
Every child should know that:
- They are personally created by God.
Every child should:
- Recognize ways that they are created uniquely.
Every child should feel:
- Awe at how big God’s story is, yet thankful that He would choose us to be part of it.
Every child should want:
- To use their lives to honor God.
