God Commands Us to Worship Him With Reverence

Big Truth:

God Commands Us to Worship Him With Reverence

Leviticus 19:12; Matthew 5:34-35; James 5:12; Hebrews 12:28; Deuteronomy 6:13; 10:12

Bible Verse:

“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”

Exodus 20:7

Big Ideas:

  • The only right response to God’s supremacy is reverence and awe.
  • To take the Lord’s name in vain is to use His name apart from His character.
  • We must honor God with our words because our speech is a reflection of our heart.
