Bible Story:

Genesis 22:1-24

Isaac was Abraham’s son that God promised that He would give. When God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac as an offering to Him, Abraham obeyed. He took Isaac up to the top of the mountain and prepared an altar to sacrifice Isaac. Just before he did, God stopped Abraham and provided a ram to be a sacrifice instead. This ram was a substitute for Isaac, and later, Jesus would be a substitute for all of mankind to die in our place as a sacrifice to God for our sin.

Redemption: Review

Thankfully, God does not just leave us in the broken world, but is repairing the brokenness through His Son. From the very beginning of time, God promised He would fix creation, and He kept His promise by sending Jesus to rescue us from our sin. Jesus came to live on the earth and willingly died on the cross so that sin’s power over creation would be broken forever.
